Dr. Praveen has established an impressive research legacy, underscoring his commitment to pushing the boundaries of computer vision and machine learning. Throughout his career, he has actively participated in diverse research projects and collaborations, making noteworthy contributions to the advancement of these fields.

One notable research project involved pioneering a constrained Fenchel conjugate approach for adaptive low-rank plus sparse decomposition in the context of low-vision applications. Supported by the Mathematical Research Impact Centric Support from SERB (Government of India), this project aimed to elevate the analysis and synthesis of sparse models tailored for low-vision scenarios. Dr. Praveen's proficiency in convex/non-convex optimization and machine learning played a pivotal role in developing innovative algorithms that effectively addressed the unique challenges within this domain.

In another research pursuit, Dr. Praveen delved into robust non-convex optimization for the analysis and synthesis of sparse models, with a specific focus on computational imaging applications. Supported by SERB-CORE (Government of India), this research sought to harness the potential of non-convex optimization techniques in resolving intricate inverse problems encountered in computational imaging. Dr. Praveen's contributions in this realm have catalyzed advancements in image processing, computer vision, and compressive sensing.

Dr. Praveen's research work extends beyond academia, as he actively collaborates with industry professionals and experts. His collaborations have led to impactful projects that bridge the gap between theory and real-world applications. For instance, during his tenure as a Senior Lead Engineer at Qualcomm's Corporate R&D Group, he worked on developing low-power and low-latency camera models. His collaboration with industry experts in the Machine Learning Camera Systems research group resulted in improved AI face detection systems and gaze detection algorithms for attention-capturing scenarios.

Furthermore, Dr. Praveen's research expertise has been recognized and awarded through prestigious fellowships and accolades. He received the "VISVESVARAYA" fellowship from MeitY, Government of India, during his Ph.D., which further supported his research endeavors. Additionally, his exceptional performance in the GATE examination, where he secured a rank of 251 out of 2,16,367 candidates, showcases his academic prowess.

Dr. Praveen's collaborative research projects highlight his ability to work seamlessly across academic and industrial domains. His expertise in convex/non-convex optimization, machine learning, and image processing, coupled with his passion for finding practical applications, makes him a sought-after collaborator. His contributions to cutting-edge research and collaborations have not only advanced the field but have also paved the way for real-world applications in computer vision and machine learning.
